BF6 Players Agree: Missions Are Overly Demanding

The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are required to unlock specific weapons.

Users have commenced using tailored sessions made via Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these missions have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. There are four categories of assignments, but although many simply offer cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of obtaining 12 of the 41 main guns found within the game.

Some of these restricted firearms could shortly find their way on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

One more community participant highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from over 200m away.

The Bypass

There is a workaround though: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, including AI opponents. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

Yet, if tackling the tasks in a normal session appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Potential Changes

It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply will never acquire the restricted guns.

For now, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these demanding in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
